That delectable battery crunch, that burning oil down the back of your throat, the inexplicably consistent substance in the dim sims… we enjoy our fish and chips here in Brisbane.

Carraway Pier at Kelvin Grove Urban Village! It is awesome.
Fishmongers Wife @ East Brisbane!
2nd that motion for Carraway Pier at Kelvin Grove, truly great fish and chips, and that’s from a Londoner!
A salt and Battery @ St Lucia. Pure awesomeness because it is a BYO fish and chip shop with great food.
Little Mermaid in Alexandra Hills! Not generally for the food – but the boys who work there are smokin! (Ask for Lucas or Jason, you won’t be dissappointed ;) )
Carraway Pier fish and chips at KG is great!
A Salt and Battery @ St Lucia. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had – in a whole league of their own. Worth any amount of driving regardless of how far away you live.
DM fish in Calamvale. It is traditional old English fashion fish and chips. It is just simply delicious fish and chips
Marine World Seafood Cafe on Manly RD at Tingalpa, best I have ever had!
Fish Bar at Kangaroo Point has the most delicious chips I have ever tried! and fish is always fresh, love it !
I’ll agree with DM fish in Calamvale, it’s near my parents and we’ve eaten it so many gosh-darn times. But I’ll disagree with A Salt and Battery, they are so overrated.
But for me, Graceville seafoods on Oxley Road. That place is amazing. I go out of my way to get food from there all the time
A Salt & Battery – on Hawken Drive in St Lucia.
For that old school paper wrapped fish & chips I don’t think you can do better than Tipplers seafood in Taringa! Fish is so fresh and Its really well priced too!
Marine world seafood cafe has great seafood. The best thing about this place is huge seafood display where you can select your fish and have them cook it up. They also do gluten free crumb, batter and grilled fish.
A Salt and Battery on Hawken Drive, St Lucia. Great value, great taste, great choice and great service for locals, students and travelling visitors. I’d reccommend it everytime!! They also sell yummy Boylans american soda pop that you cant buy in many other places!
Trawler Fresh Seafood in Virginia never disappoints!
Marine world seafood cafe the best fresh fish and chips on the east side.
Swampdog Fish and Chips south Brisbane. Hands down… Sustainable and hEalth aware fish and chips! @swampdogfandc
Best Fish and Chips has to be Sea Change at Cannon Hill. Great price, always fresh and friendly staff. Cannot be beat!
Georges in west end.. you chose the fresh fish you want from the counter in front of you and then for an extra dollar they cook it to your liking.. i always get the grilled swordfish… YUMMM.
The best fish and chips in Brisbane is at The Fishery in Baroona Road Milton. The quality is outstanding and specials are reasonably priced. His mussels and clams are a bit pricey compared to Woolies but his range of seafood is just superb. A salt and battery at St Lucia is also excellent quality if you like the laminex wind blown hot summer sardine style dining experience. I’d leave it to the students and go to The Fishery instead in Milton
What no votes for Fishmongers Wife?! I still can’t find a excellent place on the Northside, but maria’s at aspley is doing ok at the moment.
Kelvin Grove Seafood and Takeaway on Herston Road! The best!
