That being said... there was one guy at The Pearl Cafe who nearly ruined my dinner with his unsolicited try-hard negative running commentary... and it's still in my top five places to go out to eat in Brisbane! Good questions and all… but having travelled the world and lived in England, I have to say that Brisbane has the nicest serving (and retail) staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of coming across! Oh they were friendly enough when we were in there, but try to go there without a booking. The whole place will be empty and they'll tell you they're fully booked. Even heard of someone calling up and asking if they have any spots for lunch, being told yes then rocking up 15min later to an empty restaurant and being told they were fully booked. Decks!
