My favourite spot to date has to be Brooloo Creek.

About 3 hours from Brisbane. Private campground – so not stacks of people!!

Second favourite spot – Neurum Creek!

Third favourite spot Charlie Moreland state forest – just near Kenilworth. Cheap, fun and close to Brisbane. A bit crowded though. :)

Girraween National Park – about 3.5hrs SW of Brisbane. Not recommended during winter, though. Brass monkey weather out that way; sometimes it even snows!

Mt.Barney, Lower Portals. Nice walk and good swimming.

I love camping and for mine, Peachtrees in Jimna State Forest or Archer in Mt Mee State Forest are two of the best. Jimna can get crowded but Archer has only 9 campsites and pre booking is a must.
