Although most of us use Brisbane public transport every day – there’s countless relatively unknown tricks when it comes to public transport tickets and train times or bus timetables. Perhaps you even know of public transport tricks to get to Brisbane Airport inexpensively.
What are your ideas on saving fares or travelling around town on public transport in Brisbane?

If your going Southbound on the Busway, getting on at Mater Hill saves you the school kids, and is a zone cheaper :) The walk from QUT is almost the same distance going to MH as South Bank :)
Hint #1 Get thee a GO Card
Hint #2 Be nice to your bus or ferry driver
Hint #3 Don’t be the person in a couple that thinks that a translink service is the appropriate place to make out. It’s not. Everyone will hate you for making awkward smooching sounds
Hint #4 Chivalry is an attractive trait so get up fellas and give a girl a seat
Hint: Brisbane’s public transport is so overpriced it’s not funny. The bus service is rarely on time, sometimes they don’t come at all and all that time that is spent waiting is really a MAJOR waste of time. Soon it’s going to be cheaper for me to drive to work and park than it will to catch a bus to go about 8km(If you didn’t get what i’m trying to say it’s far too expensive). The Trains are of poor quality and are at least 5 years behind what Sydney has. There is nothing good about the public transport in Brisbane.
Carry headphones to block irritating teenage banter, and that person who deems themself worthy of a LOUD inappropriate phonecall. Nothing worse than overhearing an over-share then remaining in a confined space.
Also , Translink has a feedback line – the drivers receive comments and some drivers really deserve compliments for what they endure.
