After you’ve lived in a suburb long enough, you begin to accumulate a few local’s secrets.

Maybe it’s a hidden store, scenic spot, or hard-to-find pub that only locals know about.

Perhaps it’s an awesome shop or cafe that treats the regular locals particularly well.

Is there a certain local way of doing certain things in your area?

Or perhaps you’ve got a celebrity living nearby that everyone knows about, but keeps tight-lipped about.

Every Brisbane suburb has its own local’s secrets – but maybe it’s time to share the knowledge around with others…

  1. In Mt Gravatt there is a small pie shop on Logan rd that has the best pies in Brisbane/Queensland/Australia probably. Hands down they are unbelieveable! I love the Jack Daniels BBQ Pork Rib pie with a side of animal fries(chips with bacon, cheese, and gravy!) The name of the place is Piefection. Best pie I have EVER had!

  2. New licensed venue, coffee shop and fish and chip shop going in at Martha Street, Camp Hill. Becoming a great little precinct.

  3. Weller’s Hill home hardware in Tarragindi! No matter what home improvement DIY project I’ve got on the go, the guys there take the time to help me out with advice and kit me out with all the right tools and materials. Big box stores just can’t compete with neighbours who care!

  4. Singh’s Curry House on St Vincents Rd @ Banyo. Little family owned-run business serving the best Butter Chicken ever – beautiful white chicken breast, deliciously creamy sauce…mmmmm. Korma and Madras Curry is great too.

  5. Well not technically IN my suburb, but very close.
Hooked On Bread in Corinda. Some of the best pies and sandwiches I have ever tasted.
