What are your favourite things to do in Brisbane during cold weather?

When winter rolls around, there are still many things to do during freezing weather in Brisbane.

Don your winter gear and travel to your top local cafe for a hot cocoa. Get out in the extreme cold and cuddle up in a secret warm eatery in the CBD.

Those mad jogging obsessives even keep up running in cold weather – it would seem a winter jacket fixes anything in Brisbane! Maybe you have the best ideas for children in cold weather.

What are your favourite BrisbaneĀ things to do in cold weather?

  1. The cooler months are a great time to go walking in Brisbane’s forests. (It can be a bit too hot in summer.) You can feel like you’re way out in the bush on some of Mt Coot-tha’s bush tracks even though it’s not far from the CBD. At Daisy Hill Conservation Park you’re likely to see koalas high up in the trees and there’s a Koala Centre with live koalas. Tinchi Tamba Wetlands has a beautiful track that takes you to a bird hide and over the mangroves on boardwalks. There are picnic spots and a fishing ‘veranda’ on your return.

Toohey Forest out near Griffith University has lots of tracks – look out for the goannas – and Brisbane Forest Park has beautiful water views, lots of birds and a visitor’s centre and cafe near the carpark.
