Burritos, tacos, fajitas…where are the best Mexican restaurants in Brisbane?  We’ve always had a good selection of Mexican restaurants but in the last 18 months Mexican cuisine has become seriously cool again, thanks to a couple of high profile new chains. What’s your favourite? Is it one of the trendy newcomers or an old favourite? Is it a chain restaurant or an independent?

And what makes it so good? The freshness of the food? The vibe in the restaurant? The friendliness of the staff? Do they do the best guacamole you’ve ever eaten? The best fajitas? Mexican restaurants in Brisbane tend to be more informal, but that doesn’t mean they can’t do fantastic food.

Where do you go when you want a plate of nachos and a jug of sangria? Is your favourite spot on the northside or southside? Are you prepared to drive across town for a tasty taco? Let us know where the best Mexican restaurants in Brisbane are in the comments below.

  1. The best Mexican in town!!! EL TORITO restaurant in West End, soft tacos are so good, and mole poblano so tasty!!!! I really enjoy it!!
I’ll be back again for sure. ;)

  2. Being a mexican I have tried many of the local mexican restaurants and I can say in all confidence that the best one by far is La Pachanga in coopers plains. Ivonne (the owner) has that special touch that makes all dishes taste like they are coming just out of granny’s kitchen. You have to try it, it’s the real deal!

  3. Definitely La Pachanga in Coopers Plains. It is the only authentic mexican restaurant, not tex-mex nor americanised food, I’ve been able to find in Brisbane. Made me miss home!
